waiting at cl. b

This is may 6 and we are at the end of the Namib part of our journey..We drove for 6 hours about to get to windhoek airport...all 8 are leaving today. the last will leave this evening so they were left inWindhoek..the rest go to 1 Victoria Falls.  2. Australia. 3. belgium and 4 Us cape town.
We have had a good time with nice people the Landscape is varied and fabulous. the animals all over the place.  Driving this morning we passed troupes of baboons...Rather mangy looking creatures but to be avoided.
I cannot remember if I told you the problems the damara people have..the govt lets them have masses of,land, not a reserve..But because of the desert elephants they cannot garden..they have to have large reservoirs of water available or else the elephants will break i nto their houses and or break up their tanks.
Rehoboth.  an interesting town of 40'000 people.  A very small group of white people dominated the area but after independence this changed.. the white group is called Basters...apparently werecalled
bastards at one time.  R spoke to a security guard who said he was a born again Christian and he is waiting God to find him a wife!
You can read about them .  Also this town has a large group of inter racially married peope so many of them have straight hair and fair skin.
Our waiter here at the airport lived inToronto for four years and his son was born there,  He studied food management.  His name is Theo...and he proudly showed us his plasticized. certificate .
having driven over miles and miles of gravel roads I dind myself swaying in this stable restaurant chair.
I have photos on my cell am trying to transfer them
Will next write fromCapetown.
