Whenwe came down. we had breakfast hot coffee and. cold stuff. We then put the car into four wheel drive mode, shut off the air conditioner and the box for charging objects And drove over five kilometres
in very rutted sandy soil . It was like being in soft snow.
We arrived at the site of the famous dune sossevlei...we walked for. about an hour in very hot conditions over sand ups wards aand down to the center... it was grueling
finally we returned. We then drove as quickly as possible back to an area where we let off the fournwheel control. We were hot and dry..but even thou we all would prefer no air conditioning we turned it on ...arrived at. bar..beer and g and ts all round. at noon . But 30 minutes later we were climbing down a deeply incised canyon. down and up...but finally at 1330 we arrived at a wonderful oasis for a very good lunch. and to our delight a swimming pool. We are sitting round this pool rather than sleeping it off i off inour tents which is what we did last time.
Booze here is amazingly cheap...a gin and tonic is 3$. beer $1.50....We ate. A three course meal in the hotel and it came to 55$ including a wine and three cou rses. for the two of us.
We ordered mojitos but they are nothing like anything we u derstood so after a while we "doctored " them ourselves....but theywere 4$ so.
I have some photos. probably not very good....sand dunes and surises. To morrow morning we get driven re aroundto the airport and all go our separate ways,,,it is five hours to the sirport so we shall all get there around noon....We are off to Cape Town.
