Day two Moremi

Up as usual 0600 on the road by 0700. Hunting for Leopard.  All these guides communicate by radio and our guide heard that there was cheetah near by.  We drove very fast over incredibly bad road to find the poor cheetah hiding in a clump of bush, his kill several meters away.  He had managed to eat some of it, but then the baboons came....in a pack the baboons can kill ..we waited for quite a while but he did not move, by binoculars you watch him nervously twitch but stayed put.  We then looked at two sleeping lions.....lying in the open apparently u unafraid of anything....king and queen at rest.
Lions are opportunists.  and if food walks by, even if they are "full". they will hunt,
BUT. then our guide heard that a leopard. had been sighted.....again at full speed, we arrive just in time to see the Leopard stroll out of the long grass.  We slowly made our way ahead of him...letting him approach. (they seem obvious to the human observers)
The Leopard kept stopping, looking into the tall grass, the impala often hide their young in this grass...suddenly taking our breath away He swung into a swift run, passing our truck and chasing two
leaping impala.  Those with fast cameras caught some of the action..but one just stared in wonder.
The leopard did not catch them, so exhausted he went into the grass..last we saw he was lying down.
So now..what delight?
We returned to see that the sleeping lions had joined the feeding pair....our poor cheetah had moved to another bush but had not taken her prey with her.  She still seemed very nervous so we left her.
We returned to the feeding lions now four..I took some good video which I will try to include and then back to the lodge for 1130 brunch.

if u expand the photo one can see the male lion tearing at the carcass
