We hope that we can stay on the plane when arrive at Dar es salaam.
It was exciting to read the departure boards... liberville, dakar."etc
We did stay on the plane and Arrived at 1830 , the s hedule change , which we did not know about. meant that the driver who was sent for us arrived at Kilimanjaro at 1500 and hadto wait.
We were photographed and Rosemary was finger printed...I think my age stopped them fromfinger printing me...
miracles of ,miracles our. bags were there. We drove through the dusk to dark highway and were astounded to horrified ...a highway, narrow, non stop ,trucks, people, motorbikes,cars push carts, families . cars passing on all sides. on hills, on the wrong side of the road...finally a truck making a three point turn in the middle of this mess, crushed a van and a motor cycle...long wait until we edged our way around,,people gawking, but seemingly not helping, others car dodging their way ahead of our careful cautious driver. No street lights, dark cavernous road side buildings open to the road, people wandering every where.
120 minutes later we got to the Arusha hotel...a large, not particularly welcoming place. Our driver GEORGE. left us, on the info from garth it said dinner was included but apparently not. We are ina nice room , large but a ten minute walk away from the front desk.
We went down for supper...a help your self ...and was charged 27 dollars each U S. We will sort it out tomorrow when thenothers shownup....it is nearly ten at night and no sign of them. They will be exhausted. We have to be at Bfast , packed and ready to go by 0830.
On the plane was a delightful small girl with her hair done in an attractive way.
