We took a bus tour from dubai....130 kilometres. Abu D is the capital city.  the son of a friend says there is nothing todo here

So far we have stopped at the formula one race track and a very expensive hotel The Vice Roi hotel

there were beautiful orchids attached to long glass tube s. each orchid had its own tube 

Artificial island water parks.  private race track Yas Island A name to remember!

abu d is the richest Emirate there are over two million people living here busily reclaiming the desert. sailing on the Persian gulf..very very very luxurious houses...20 bedrooms or more 7 star Hotels emphasizing privacy.  great care for the rich and famous.

we stopped at an enormous mall which included a huge Carrefour.  masses of Abaya dressed women faces covered shopping with babies and baskets

i left a bag down and shortly we saw a security guard carrying it.. we chased him and a Supervisor had to cometo allow him to hand it over to me

the security guard came from Nepal. he has a 4 month work permit 

had to buy an Abaya as my trousers had a design ed slit at the ankle.  people were lending others bits of clothing. so that the women would be properly covered 

came home for Scotch and put on our swimming suits and swam

Some of these photos show the desert. along the highway between dubai and Abu D. they have carefully planted a forest of trees, each tree is watered individually....totally amazing.
